The focus of their presentation will be "How Incentives Drive Participation and Manage Health Care Costs by Implementing a Game Plan for Good Health"
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) operates a self-funded, non-profit Trust to provide health care benefits for over 600 rural electric cooperatives and 100,000 covered lives across the nation. In the Spring of 2007, two of these cooperatives agreed to participate in a pilot program where they committed significant financial and human resources toward an incentive-based wellness and prevention program that was put in place effective January 1, 2008. This session will include commentary from the pilot participants and will examine the:
- Strategy for integrating incentives into a consumer driven plan design
- Challenges faced while implementing the program
- Resulting two year data
- Impact on the wellness culture in the workplace
