Ms. Brikman currently co-anchors WUSA 9 News from 5-6:30pm, and spearheads the station’s health coverage, including daily “Health Alerts” and in-depth reports on breaking medical news, as well as research and clinical advances.
She is actively involved with health and wellness-related organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American Heart Association. She and her family moved to the Washington, DC area in 2008, and are thrilled to call the nation’s capital home.
Previously, Anita spent many years at the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, where she began working in 1994 as the featured medical reporter. Among her most memorable assignments, Anita traveled to Indonesia following the disastrous tsunami to chronicle a medical relief mission by American physicians. She has also presented her medical reports on Good Morning America and ABC News NOW.
Ms. Brikman graduated with honors from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications. She is married and the mother of three very active children. In her free time, Anita enjoys distance running, and ran the Marine Corps Marathon for the first time in 2010.
