Dr. Bettger is dedicated to establishing real world evidence aimed to improve health care quality and policies that reduce the burden of disease and disability. She conducts research with interdisciplinary teams using large integrated dataset to study and improve care transitions.

Dr. Rich Feifer is chief medical officer at Genesis HealthCare, one of the nation's largest skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care providers. He leads a team of over 550 clinicians who provide care for many Genesis patients, in addition to the medical directors at every Genesis skilled nursing facility. His primary focus is the active transition from volume-based fee-for-service to value-based care and reimbursement. In that capacity, he also serves as chief medical officer of the Genesis HealthCare Accountable Care Organization, which is the only national ACO focused on nursing home patients.

Prior to joining Genesis, Dr. Feifer served as Aetna’s chief medical officer of National Accounts. He led Clinical Consulting, Strategy, and Analysis, which helped our nation’s largest employers improve the health and productivity of their members. Before Aetna, Dr. Feifer served as vice president of Clinical Program Innovation and Evaluation at Medco, where he was responsible for the organization’s portfolio of care enhancement programs.

A graduate of Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Feifer is a board-certified internist with experience in population health, primary care, geriatrics, and urgent care medicine at the Fallon Clinic. He received his MPH in Health Services Management from Columbia University, and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut.

Stacey Hodgman, RN has been an RN for over 25 years with 18 years of case management expertise and experience working for managed care organizations, short and long-term acute hospitals and worksite wellness programs. She is currently employed with Kindred Healthcare as the Division Vice President of Clinical Integration & Care Navigation.

Ms. Hodgman is responsible for designing and implementing new models of care coordination designed to improve care management and care transitions across settings that seek to improve patient outcomes and experience while transitioning patients efficiently and seamlessly through the post acute continuum. Stacey earned her nursing and undergraduate degrees from Rivier University and her graduate degree from George Washington University. She is board certified in Case Management as well as Certified as a Case Management Administrator. She served two terms on the Board of Directors for the Case Management Society of New England as well as served on the Case Management Advisory Board for the Health Intelligence Network, the Editorial Board for Dorland Health Care Coordination Journal and as a Case Management content expert reviewer for the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center.

Stacey has published several articles in Case Management journals as well as provided numerous CEU presentations on topics such as the value of post acute care and the importance of episodic care management.

Wright L. Lassiter III is the President and CEO of Henry Ford Health System, overseeing the $5.5 billion health system comprised of six hospitals, a health plan and a wide range of ambulatory and retail health services consisting of more than 60 clinical locations and 28,000 employees.

Lassiter joined Henry Ford in December 2014 as president. In his first year, he led the Board and senior management team through a comprehensive strategic planning effort to position Henry Ford for the future. In addition, he oversaw two successful mergers, one with Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan, and the other with HealthPlus of Michigan, a health plan based in Flint, expanding the geographic footprint of the System and generating an additional $1 billion in revenue.

A seasoned health care executive, Lassiter has more than 25 years of experience working in large, complex health systems, including Methodist Health System in Dallas and JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to joining Henry Ford, Lassiter was CEO of Alameda Health System in Oakland, California, where he was credited with leading the expansion and turnaround of the $865 million public health system, achieving eight years of positive financial performance, The Joint Commission Top Performer status, significant increases in patient engagement and reductions in patient harm.

Lassiter’s work has received many national accolades, most notably “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2017/2016” by Modern Healthcare; 2016/2012 “Top 25 Minority Healthcare Executives in U.S. Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare; 2014 “Top Blacks in U.S. Healthcare” by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions; and 2011 “20 People Who Make Healthcare Better” in the U.S by HealthLeaders. Fast Company prominently featured Lassiter’s work to rebuild Alameda.

An avid community leader, Lassiter has held volunteer positions at the United Way, Salvation Army and YMCA. Currently, he serves on the boards of the American Hospital Association, America’s Essential Hospitals, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago – Detroit Branch, Detroit Regional Chamber, LeMoyne College, City Year Detroit, and YMCA-USA National Board of Directors.

Lassiter received his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Indiana University where he graduated number one in his class, and completed his bachelor’s degree with honors in Chemistry from LeMoyne College in Syracuse.

Lisa Lilley is Chief Nurse and Director of Quality for Christus Physician Group in Irving, Texas. Her area of responsibilities include pay for performance, Nursing and Advanced Practice, clinical and operational process improvement, and patient risk and safety for a multi-state area. Lisa obtained her Master’s degree as a Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University, holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a mini-MBA from Cox SMU School of Business.

Lisa has developed and managed nurse navigator teams both in hospital and in the tele-health space. Lisa has been instrumental in developing and growing physician partnership and leadership to improve quality performance at Christus Physician Group.

Jennie Oberkrom MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over ten years of experience in behavioral health, social services, and private practice. She is currently the Strong Start Clinical Program Coordinator at Signature Medical Group, Inc. where she has successfully co-managed a $1 million grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Through her leadership, the program is the top performer of all awardees and she engages in strategic planning with the program director, OB/GYN providers, and executive leadership to design, implement, and scale the program for sustainability. As an expert in integrative care models, she is transforming maternity care by incorporating trauma-informed care and bringing the perspective and skill set of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to OB/GYN providers in order to effectively address social determinants of health and behavioral health.

Jill Piazza, PT, DPT serves as Vice President of Care Integration at the Population Health Services Organization of Adventist Health System (AHS). She is a physical therapist, graduating with her Master’s Degree in 2000 and her doctorate in 2008 from Simmons College, Boston, MA.

Originally from the New England area, she began her career with Florida Hospital in 2002, working at Florida Hospital DeLand first as the Manager of rehab services and then as the Director. In her role she oversaw the operations of the Rehabilitative Services departments, Diabetes Education, Wellness/Cardiopulmonary Rehab, as well as the Orthopaedic and Women’s Service Lines.

In 2012, Jill moved into a regional director role focused on growing health and wellness programming for the hospitals in the Central Florida Division – North Region of Florida Hospital. In 2014, she launched a high-risk care coordination program for underserved patients, and in 2015 moved into a new role as VP of Care Integration for the Central Florida Division – North Region. Since that time, her care integration role expanded and she is now working to further the population health strategy of AHS.

In her current role, Jill is currently responsible for the development and integration of a longitudinal care management model, in addition to quality/performance improvement and member experience at the Population Health Services Organization of AHS.

Jill is involved in the community and sits on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Volusia/Flagler Counties. She is also a past Executive Board member of the Fun Coast Worksite Wellness Council and past board member of One Voice for Volusia.

Jill and her husband Charlie, also a physical therapist, reside in Ormond Beach, FL and have two sons, ages 12 and 9.

Elizabeth Polek is the Executive Director of Care Management and Patient Transitions at currently works at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. She has been in that position for the last 7 years directing inpatient operational departments in the areas of patient throughput and capacity such as Case Management, Utilization Management, Central Patient Placement, Transfer Center, Clinical House Supervision and Social Work.

Prior to coming to UCSF, Elizabeth worked in both community hospital and academic medicine for over twenty years leading departments and initiatives that focused on discharge coordination, patient transitions, length of stay, utilization management, post-acute partnerships and collaborations, Accountable Care organizations, readmission avoidance, and palliative care. She holds an MBA and LCSW. The marriage of these two degrees are a valuable asset in navigating the financial and business landscape, while managing the psychosocial and environmental complexities, within the current health care system.

Ron Scharff, Assistant Vice President, directs Kindred Rehab Services' market research focusing on clinical, operational, and utilization outcomes. He guides a range of clients, including acute and post-acute providers, to use transform internal and external data into strategic insights so they achieve better care integration, succeed in alternate payment models, and strengthen their rehabilitation services continuum. Ron focuses on understanding opportunities to optimize patient identification, improve transfer processes, monitor and track patient-centered outcomes, and redesign rehabilitation services across the continuum of care.

Dr. Thompson has been with Vidant Health since 1993. She held clinical and leadership roles at Vidant Medical Center including serving as a Cardiothoracic ICU charge nurse and a Pulmonary Clinical Nurse Specialist focused on high risk ventilator dependent patients and providing case management to high risk COPD and asthma patients. Dr. Thompson expanded to ambulatory care as a Business & Industry Clinical Nurse Specialist providing disease management services for high risk chronic disease patients and diabetes group visits. In 2004, Dr. Thompson opened the Vidant Employee Clinic providing primary care services as a Family Nurse Practitioner for employees, covered dependents, and opened three satellite clinics for local businesses with primary care, occupational health services, and wellness services, including medical management of Optifast services. Dr. Thompson joined Vidant Medical Group in 2010 and developed the Quality Program which included a documentation compliance program, ambulatory quality improvement, Meaningful Use attestation, PQRS implementation, grants, and Patient Centered Medical Home implementation across primary care clinics. In 2013, Dr. Thompson assumed executive leadership for Care Coordination across Vidant Health and in 2014, assumed leadership of HealthAccess, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vidant Health housing Wellness, Home Health, Hospice, and Care Coordination business lines.

Dr. Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Atlantic Christian College, a master’s in nursing from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, post-master’s family nurse practitioner certificate from Duke University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University. She is certified as a patient centered medical home expert from NCQA, holds a Green belt in Lean Six Sigma.

Dr. Thompson serves on the Board of Advanced Home Care. She has oversight of ambulatory grants and enjoys implementing new models of care and population health initiatives.

Dr. Wild received his MD degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. His internship and residency training were at Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco; San Francisco General Hospital; and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He served five years as an active duty officer with the US Army Medical Corps and also served as a Department of Defense civilian emergency medicine specialist at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia. Dr Wild earned his BA in Biology from Dartmouth College, his JD degree from the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, DC, and his MBA from the Columbia University Graduate Business School, in New York City.

Dr. Wild has 30 years of experience as a practicing emergency physician ranging from small rural Georgia hospitals to large university teaching centers. He has served on the Medical School faculties of Boston University, University of Massachusetts, and Brown University and was Chairman of the department of Emergency Medicine and Chief of Emergency Services at a teaching hospital of Brown University Medical School. He has taught emergency medicine, health policy and legal medicine to resident physicians and medical students and has served as President of the Rhode Island College of Emergency Physicians, and as chairman or member of several American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and American Medical Association (AMA) national committees dealing with government affairs, coding, and physician reimbursement.

Dr. Wild is an active member of the Massachusetts and US Federal bar and has practiced as a health care attorney with a large Boston law firm representing hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities and a major Boston teaching hospital. He was medical director of Medicare’s direct fiscal intermediary in Baltimore and also CMS (then HCFA) Chief Medical Officer for reimbursement policy during the initial implementation the Hospital Prospective Payment (DRG) system. He subsequently served on the Medicare Prospective Payment Assessment Commission staff (now MedPac).
