Alastair McKechnie has been Sector Manager for Energy in the World Bank's South Asia Region since mid-1997. Formerly, he was responsible for infrastructure, energy and private sector development in the Middle East Department. He was Division Chief for energy efficiency and strategy in the global ESMAP Programme from 1987 to 1991. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked for Bristish management and economics, and engineering consulting firms on a range of assignments in the UK, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
