Launched in June 2013, EngagingPatients.org was created in the belief that patient engagement is central to the transformation of healthcare. By partnering with smart people and great organizations, it has created a vibrant community where providers, patients and patient advocates come together to share best practices for engaging patients, and participate in thoughtful discussion. In 2014, EngagingPatients sought to gain broader visibility for the great work that's being done to enhance patient and family engagement and established the John Q. Sherman Award of Excellence in Patient Engagement which recognizes the innovative programs that are delivering better, safer care and outcomes.
