Physician with about fifteen years of sales, marketing, and, market access experience in pharma complemented with ten years of clinical development and medical affairs expertise in oncology. Has worked with several start-up biotech companies (such as Pharmion, Myogen and Immunocore) as well as larger pharma (such as Abbott and Novartis) building US-based and global teams. Currently VP of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs at Jounce Therapeutics.

Maria Cannito received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy, Union University, a Master of Science degree in Health Systems Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University. She began her career in hospital pharmacy, specializing in Critical Care, Institutional Review Boards, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees and Drug Information.

Maria joined Pfizer in 1998 as a Clinical Education Consultant providing education and drug therapy evaluations in multiple therapeutic areas. She subsequently transitioned to the Clinical Applications Team where she worked on strategies for medication adherence and development of analytic software tools. Maria continued her career with Pfizer as a Medical Outcomes Specialist where she worked with products in over 15 therapeutic areas over 7 years. She has also worked as a Field Medical Director (FMD) on both the Rare Disease and the Inflammation & Immunology Teams. Maria is currently the Team Lead for the Rare Disease Amyloidosis Field Medical Directors. Maria has numerous professional publications/presentations to her credit, including those at local, state, and national levels as well as many Pfizer awards. She is currently active in several professional organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health System Pharmacists and the National Pharmacy Quality Alliance. Maria is a Past President of the Rochester Area Society of Health System Pharmacists and was recently awarded Pharmacist of the Year in 2017.

Tom is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Carolan Group, LLC, in Montville NJ. Founded in 2002, The Carolan Group is a leading pharmaceutical and biotech staffing firm specializing in Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaison recruitment. Tom is responsible for leading a team of expert sourcers, recruiters and account managers in client expansions for various levels of field based Medical Affairs professionals including Medical Science Liaisons, MSL Directors, Managed Care MSLs as well as various support roles. From one MSL hire to an entire organization, Tom has spent the past 15 years placing MSLs and Medical Affairs professionals in many therapeutic areas including CNS, Oncology, Virology, Cardio Metabolic, Transplant, Pain/CNS, Immunology, Dermatology, Respiratory, Renal, GI, Nutritionals and many others. Before his time at The Carolan Group, Tom Spent 10 years with Abbott Laboratories in various field based roles such as Market Expansion Specialist, Medical Nutritional Representative, Managed Care Executive, District and Regional Field Trainer for the Northeast. Tom consistently ranked in the top 5 sales professionals in the country during his tenure. Prior to joining Abbott, Tom was a Managed Care Sales Representative in the New Business division of US Healthcare in Paramus, NJ. He is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

With 25 years of industry experience including a client base of some of the world’s largest drug makers to small pharma and biotech firms, Tom is a frequent speaker and Medical Affairs Consultant at clients, advisory boards and industry meetings. His strategic interests focus on hiring, retention and career development for the field based MSL role.

Michael S. Macko is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he handles False Claims Act litigation, investigations, and other matters in the Civil Division. Mr. Macko graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and clerked for judges in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and U.S. District Court. Before joining the Department of Justice in 2010, Mr. Macko worked as a Litigation Associate at an international law firm in Philadelphia.

Martin Marciniak, RPh, MPP, PhD is Vice President, US Medical Affairs responsible for Customer Engagement, Value, Evidence and Outcomes within GlaxoSmithKline. His leadership and research experience has included specific therapeutic area focus in oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, policy and economics. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to present clinical, health outcomes, and economic results at both national and international meetings. In addition to his research activities, Martin has previously served as a nonvoting industry representative to the Medicare Evidence Development & Coverage Advisory Committee (MEDCAC) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and as a board member for the National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) Board of Directors. Presently, he serves as a member of the National Quality Forum Efficiency Steering Committee, the Editorial Advisory Board for Value and Outcomes Spotlight (an ISPOR publication), and on the advisory board for the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER). In addition to these activities, he has also served the broader healthcare community in several different ways, most recently through invitations to engage in public forum discussions at SCOPE, Eye for Pharma, BioCentury TV and the FDA/CMS Summit.

Martin holds a position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the University of North Carolina’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, his masters’ degree in Public Policy from Harvard University, and his BS in Pharmacy from Purdue University.

Eddie Power PhD MBA is currently the VP, North America Medical Affairs, Hospital Business at Pfizer and has held positions of increasing responsibility during his career in the pharmaceutical industry.

He started at Pfizer in September 2010 leading US teams in Vaccines and Infectious Diseases before assuming before assuming US Medical Affairs leadership for Pfizer’s Essential Health business Unit. Before joining Pfizer, Eddie held Medical and Clinical Development positions at Cubist, Bayer and GSK.

He has a passionate interest in learning and capability development for Medical Affairs colleagues and teaches for the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Pharmaceutical Medicine (IFAPP) Academy/Kings College Medicines Development Certification Program.

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Eddie held a faculty position at United Medical and Dental Schools, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London, UK. He holds a PhD degree from the Welsh School of Pharmacy, University of Wales, UK and an MBA from Henley Management College, UK

Anthony D. Scicchitano is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he handles False Claims Act litigation, investigations, and other matters in the Civil Division. Mr. Scicchitano graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and clerked for a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Scicchitano worked at the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Michael R. Ujhelyi, Pharm.D., FCCP is Senior Regional Medical Director for BTG leading the Interventional Oncology field medical team. The medical team is responsible for therapy training and education, clinical trial liaison/investigator initiated research, executing medical plans and supporting internal stakeholders.

Previously Dr. Ujhelyi was:

• Vice President Research and Scientific Affairs: Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (2016-2017)
• Medical Affairs and Clinical Research Director: Medtronic Neuromodulation and Cardiac Rhythm business units respectively at Medtronic (1998 – 2016).
• Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Medicine: University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and Medical college of Georgia (1993-1998)

Dr. Ujhelyi has designed and developed many programs including an investigator initiated research program, field based medical scientist program, oncology medical science liaison organization, medical evidence centers and medical information program. He has led large clinical research initiatives, developed cardiovascular device based therapies and has published over 70 research papers, presented more than 100 research papers at scientific meetings and has 26 issued patents; one patent was recently FDA approved and commercialized.

Dr Ujhelyi received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida (1987), Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1989) and completed a Cardiovascular Therapeutics Fellowship at Hartford Hospital and University of Connecticut (1991).
