The World Congress Leadership Summit on Consumer Connectivity & Web Empowerment aims to bridge the divide between new and old healthcare communications by convening senior level executives from the nation’s leading hospitals, health plans and employer organizations. Plenary sessions and educational tracks will address the opportunities and efficiencies presented by today’s new media, including social networks, blogs, online communities, search engines, PHRs, and self-service web tools.
Along with insight from the next generation of healthcare technologists and entrepreneurs, this one-day event will present the online strategies necessary to transform internet based technologies into valuable and sustainable business models that improve web education, employee productivity and, ultimately, yield better health outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the risks and benefits of a user-generated market |
Identify the companies and technologies that are empowering today’s consumer |
Formulate strategies to influence behavior and encourage informed-decision-making |
Assess a business model for its ability to engage and protect providers online |
Demonstrate the value of implementing self-service and web-based technologies to improve productivity and education |
Pinpoint the qualities necessary to respond to the next generation consumer |
According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, an initiative of Pew Research Center, in a February – March 2007 survey: 71% of American adults use the internet and 80% of these American internet users, or some 113 million adults, have searched for information on at least one of seventeen health topics.
