We are all aware that a health care crisis exists in this country, but would you agree that the crisis is actually twofold – a quality crisis and a cost crisis? The quality of care delivered today remains highly variable, and the cost of health care continues to grow at twice the rate of the GDP, making it harder and harder to pay for care.

The World Health Care Congress is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Chronic Care and Prevention Congress which focuses on the challenge to support and lead the emerging standard of chronic disease management. Now in its 3rd year, the Congress convenes thought leaders from distinct shareholder groups to exchange ideas, share their expertise and discuss new and innovative ways to treat chronic disease and manage total health population.
Topics to be addressed include:
Partnering with the Medical Home: Treating the Chronically Ill Through the Use of Technology
Conquering the Chronic Care Conundrum – The Key to Reform
Health Care Beyond Insurance
Restructuring the Health Care Delivery System to Improve Access to Quality Care
Chronic Disease and Social Determinants; Instilling Healthy Behaviors from Childhood through Elder-hood

“Chronic diseases are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Chronic diseases account for 70% of all deaths in the U.S., which is 1.7 million each year. These diseases also cause major limitations in daily living for almost 1 out of 10 Americans or about 25 million people.” (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

Health Plan Market Trends Letter
From the 2008 Congress
"I believe the mix of controversial speakers sparked feisty conversations and provided 'food for thought' – excellent choices! It was extremely satisfying for me to obtain a view of how other entities are networking together to reduce costs and improve care to this population which is so very vital."
Linda Mahoney, RN, CCM, Mt. Auburn Cambridge IPA (MACIPA)

"Of the two conferences I've participated in thus far, this one was more organized and less commercial. It covered significant topics that are impacting chronic disease/care conditions and gave me a broad perspective on disease management. This was a very good summit – it was well organized, the facilitators were very nice, courteous and helpful!"
Jacqueline Barden, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
