Welcome to the website of the Canadian Consulate General in Boston, Massachusetts. We are part of a world-wide network of more than 200 Canadian diplomatic and trade offices. Boston is one of twenty-two Canadian offices located in the United States. We represent Canada in the five New England states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island.
The team at the Canadian Consulate General in Boston works to promote Canada's interests in the five states which make up our territory. This includes advancing political, economic, academic and cultural ties between Canada and New England, as well as promoting the all-important trade and investment relationship between our two countries. We also provide consular assistance to Canadians who are visiting or living in our territory.
The long-established New England-Canada trade relationship is worth over twenty billion dollars annually and supports over 300,000 New England jobs. Canada is the number-one export market for the states of Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island, and the number-two market for New Hampshire and Massachusetts. This trade partnership, along with an integral energy relationship, a shared responsibility for our environment and the vast cultural, academic and tourism ties between us, help bring into focus why the Canada-U.S. relationship is so beneficial and meaningful to both nations.
Working in conjunction with the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., which is responsible for the overall bilateral relationship between Canada and the U.S., we at the Consulate General in Boston work to promote Canadian interests and cross-border collaboration at a more local level within our territory.
