The Affordable Care Act’s Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) requirements passed on November 22, 2010 in accordance with The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). With Health and Human Services establishing and implementing medical loss ratios, health plans must begin making changes to the way they are approaching their business strategy, including products, services and administrative processes.
Those plans that fail to meet the MLR mandates will be required to rebate their members the difference. Can you afford to have that cut into your profit margin?
The year’s ahead will be a challenge for health plans as they work to comply to the MLR standards - the demand for process change and improvement will be critical. It is essential that health plans re-assess their approach in benefit design, broker commissions, financial reporting, delivery of care, and quality performance to meet the regulations while maintaining a positive profit. World Congress Leadership Summit on Medical Loss Ratios is a must attend for health plans in terms of learning mission critical steps for implementing and adhering to Medical Loss Ratio mandates: navigate the complex requirements, maintain and maximize revenue streams and improve quality of care. Uncover the financial, clinical and operational implications of MLRs and prepare a strategy to drive your plan past the challenges and obstacles.
