India has a sizable rural population, most of which is severely under-serviced by traditional health care resources. In Andhra Padesh, a southern state of India, more than 86 percent of villages lie beyond three kilometers from the nearest hospital. It is estimated that roughly 600,000 patients go untreated every day. HMRI has started a helpline – 104 Advice, which is similar to the 911 service in United States, but offers non-emergency health advice and information and counseling service on the toll-free 104 number.

How do the villagers find out about this great service? I am thinking that most of them cannot read, so is sucess dependent on poeple who can read spreading the word?
