The World Congress Leadership Summit on Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) will convene providers and other stakeholders to discuss strategies for integrating and participating in an Accountable Care Organization framework on a local level that offers shared savings payments for improving the quality of care and costs. Real-world, case study examples of organizations currently participating in ACO pilots will be featured on the agenda and the Summit faculty will offer concrete, specific steps that others must take throughout the process of planning and implementation.
- UNDERSTAND where Medicare is going with value-based purchasing and the ACO model for health care reform
- DETERMINE the ACO structure - single, multiple or virtual - that works best for your patient population and your region or referral network area
- GRASP the essential elements of an ACO – leadership, collaboration, financing and measurement – and align independent physicians, hospitals and/or payers behind the ACO concept
- EVALUATE methods to project cost savings, benchmarking and how the shared savings payment piece will work
- EXAMINE multi-payer market dynamics and develop a payer approach for funding an ACO infrastructure
- DESIGN outcomes-based performance measures and data management strategies to ensure appropriate care is being delivered and that cost savings is a direct result of improving quality
- IMPLEMENT technology tools and rely on analytic resources that help create an effective organizational environment and a platform for information sharing
- UTILIZE advanced Medical Homes to better coordinate care in the ACO framework
