According to a 2006 study published in the American Journal of Managed Care, providing insurance coverage of smoking cessation programs lowers medial expenditures and costs related to smokers' loss of productivity. Major employers are now realizing these benefits of offering such programs to employees to help employees quit smoking. John Clymer, President of the Partnership for Prevention, will be a featured presenter at the 3rd Annual Health & Human Capital Congress this month alongside several top firms that have employed smoking cessation programs, such as Quest Diagnostics, Quintiles Corporation and Union Pacific Corporation.
